One Tap Film

Film camera for iPhone and Android

Pick a film. Tap once. Done.

One Tap Film is a camera app with 46 films. Choose a film and tap the shutter. The app develops the photo in that film and saves it to your gallery, so there's nothing to edit later.

Standard, Saturated and Mono are free for good. Try all 46 films free for 7 days, then get them for US$4.99, once.

How it works

Three steps from your eye to your gallery

01 · Pick

Choose a film

Swipe the viewfinder left or right to change film. Or tap the film button to see all 46. You see the film live before you shoot.

02 · Tap

Tap the shutter

One tap takes the photo. Either volume button works too. You can take the next photo right away.

03 · Done

Find it in your gallery

The app develops the photo at full size in your film. Then it saves it to Photos on iPhone, or to the gallery on Android.

The camera

Focus and light are automatic, and you can still take over

The camera sets focus, brightness and white balance for you. These are the controls for when you want more.

Tap to focus

Tap the viewfinder to focus and set the light on that spot. A small orange box shows where you tapped.

Brighter or darker

After you tap, swipe up or down. A ruler with a sun shows the change, up to 2 stops each way. One stop doubles or halves the light.

Lenses and selfies

Tap the round lens button to see your phone's lenses and zoom steps. The flip button switches to the front camera.

Flash and timer

Flash is off, auto or on. The timer waits 3 or 10 seconds. To cancel it, tap the shutter again.

Three shapes

Shoot in 4:3, 3:2 or 1:1. The viewfinder shows the shape before you shoot.

Date stamp

Tap DATE to print the day on the photo in orange, like an old film camera.

Turn the phone

Hold the phone sideways, and you get an upright wide photo. The buttons stay where they are.

Keep shooting

Up to six photos can wait to develop while you shoot. A number on the small photo shows how many are left.

Frame counter

The film strip under the viewfinder counts from 1 to 36, like a roll of film. It starts again each day.

Describe Edits

Say how the photo should look

Open a photo in the gallery and tap Describe Edits. Type what you want, or tap the microphone and say it. The app turns each request into slider moves and shows each move as a chip. Tap a chip's × to take back that one change.

It can change the light, the colour, contrast and grain. It can change one colour, like the greens. It can also change one part of the photo: the sky, the subject, the background, people or a face. Name a film, and the film goes on top of the photo.

  • a bit warmer
  • darker sky
  • brighter face
  • more grain
  • greens are too bright
  • faded look

Save changes the photo itself at full size. On iPhone, Revert in Photos brings the original back. On Android, the app keeps the original for you.

Describe Edits runs on your phone. It needs Apple Intelligence on a supported iPhone, or Gemini Nano on a supported Android phone. Film names work on every phone. See what you can change.

Gallery and sharing

Your film photos in one place, with frames to share them

Tap the small photo next to the shutter to open the gallery. It shows only photos taken with One Tap Film. The grid groups them by day and can show one film at a time.

Gallery · Paper
sunday
Instant · Black

Share adds a frame before the photo goes to the share sheet. Pick None, Border, Gallery or Instant, then a white, paper or black mat, and add a caption if you like. The shared copy is up to 3200 pixels on the long side. The frame never covers the photo, and your original doesn't change.

Questions

Questions people ask

Which phones does One Tap Film work on?

iPhones with iOS 26 or later, and Android phones with Android 12 or later. Describe Edits needs your phone's own AI as well: Apple Intelligence on a supported iPhone, or Gemini Nano on a supported Android phone. Film names in Describe Edits work on every phone.

Is it a subscription?

No. Three films are free for good. All 46 films cost US$4.99 once, and they're yours from then on. There's no subscription, no account and no ads.

What happens when the 7-day trial ends?

Nothing is charged. You're back to Standard, Saturated and Mono, and swiping the viewfinder moves between those three. The film picker still shows every film, with a lock on the other 43. Photos you already took keep their film. You can buy All Films at any time.

Do I need an account?

No. There's nothing to sign up for. The app has no server, so your photos stay on your phone and in your gallery.

Does the app also save a plain copy without the film?

No. The app saves one photo to your gallery: the finished one, in your film. It keeps the camera's own picture only until that photo is developed and saved.

Can I change the film after I take a photo?

Yes, with Describe Edits. Open the photo, tap Describe Edits and name a film, like “the Cinema film”. The new film goes on top of the photo's current look. To take it back, tap the chip's × or Undo.

Why don't my other photos show up in the gallery?

The gallery in the app shows only photos taken with One Tap Film. Screenshots and photos from other apps stay out, so you see your film photos together. The Photos or Gallery button opens your phone's full photo library.

How is One Tap Film connected to Chobial?

I make both apps. Chobial is my bigger film camera app, with RAW photos and a film editor. One Tap Film uses Chobial's film engine and the same 46 films. It's a camera with one job: you tap once, and the photo is done.

I bought All Films. How do I get it on a new phone?

In the film picker, tap a locked film, then tap Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account on iPhone, or the same Google account on Android. A purchase on the App Store doesn't carry over to Google Play, or the other way round.

When is it coming to the App Store and Google Play?

One Tap Film is in beta now, on TestFlight for iPhone and as a Google Play test for Android. Join the beta to use it before it comes out.
